Maybelline "The Buffs" Lipsticks

Hello everyone! Today's review is on the Maybelline "In the Buffs" lipstick line, as requested by TwentyThirtyGlam on Youtube. Can I just mention I love these ladies?! xD

I only have 2 shades from the actual "In the Buffs" line, and then another that I recently hauled that I think is possibly an addition to the original line. There are 10 shades in the original line, but the shades I have are "Blushing Beige", "Nude Lust", and the new one, "Ravishing Rose". All of these lipsticks retail for around $6 to $7 dollars, depending on where you go.

The packaging is pretty classic to Maybelline lipsticks, being a metal tube covered by a rectangular casing. The casing on these is like a peachy pink color. The casing on the new ones is also the same color and style, making it seem like they would be additions to the original line.

Here are some swatches on my hand before showing them on the lips!
(From Left to Right: Blushing Beige, Nude Lust, Ravishing Rose)

Blushing Beige!

As you can see, this color is almost a perfect nude color for my skin tone. However, usually when I wear this color out, I top it with a pink toned gloss, just so I don't look too washed out. For this review, I just used the lipstick on its own so you know exactly how it looks alone. Blushing Beige is just a nice lighter peachy nude, and I think would look good on fair to medium skin tones like myself.

Nude Lust!

This color was somewhat hard to capture on camera, because of the closeness in color with Blushing Beige. Nude Lust is a little bit more of a brown nude color, but is still very close in shade to Blushing Beige, so I think that fair to medium skin tones could also wear this shade as well.

Ravishing Rose!

This color is a lot brighter on the lips than I anticipated when I bought it, thinking it was part of the Buffs line. However, it is a really pretty color to wear in spring and summer because of that. If you look at the swatch on my hand I posted earlier, you can see how pink this color really is in comparison with the others. Nevertheless, I think it is a really pretty color and will definitely get some wear out of it come springtime!

All of these lipsticks are really good quality. They are really creamy on the lips and really pigmented. They do have that classic Maybelline lipstick smell, which I can't really describe, but if you have other Maybelline lipsticks in your collection, you know what i'm talking about. All in all I think these lipsticks are really nice for everyday wear and I would definitely recommend checking them out if you haven't already. (NOTE: They do have some deeper shades if you like more of a deep lip or are of darker skin tone, I just didn't pick any up because I didn't think I would wear the darker shades as much.)

I hope this review was helpful to those who are thinking of purchasing one of these lipsticks, and thank you to TwentyThirtyGlam who requested this review! Check out their channel for makeup/beauty videos as well!

Spring Walgreens Haul!

Hey what's up everyone! The weather's finally looking nice and the sun is coming out, so I thought today i'd come at ya with a Spring Walgreen's Haul! I went a little overboard seeing a lot of the new releases for spring, especially from Maybelline, so let's just hop right in! :)

Rimmel "Exaggerate" Full Colour Lip Liners!
Now I never really line my lips ever, and maybe that's just because I only have 2 lip liners to choose from-a bright red and a bright (almost neon) pink. I figured it was time to maybe give this a go with some more wearable shades. I had heard great things about the Rimmel lip liners, and since they were 50% off at my Walgreen's, I could get 2 for the price of 1! The 2 shades I picked out are ones I have heard many good reviews on, those being the colors "Addiction" (a brownish nude) and "Eastend Snob" (a nudish pink). I figured I would get the most wear out of these shades and picked them up.

("Addiction" and "Eastend Snob")
Swatching the 2 colors, they are pretty creamy and nice feeling on the skin Though I haven't tried them on the skin, I have high hopes for them. They retail for $6.49 each at my Walgreens, but I got them for about $3.25 each.

Wet n' Wild Mega Last Lipsticks!
I have also heard great things about the Wet n' Wild lipsticks! Having tried 3 on a different collection of theirs, I had no doubts that these lipsticks were going to be high quality at a low price tag! I got 3 shades, 2 of which I think will be amazing for Springtime. The shades I got are "Bare It All", "Think Pink", and "Just Peachy". After wearing "Bare It All" today, I can tell that these lipsticks are super creamy and nice, leaving a semi-matte finish to the lips. This helps the product to stay for a longer time without drying out the lips.
("Bare It All", "Think Pink", and "Just Peachy")
These lipsticks retail for about $2.00 and I got mine for $1.50 each.

So I had these purchases in my cart. I was getting a little disappointed that I hadn't seen the new Maybelline "The Nudes" display everyone was talking about with the new Color Tattoos, Nail Polishes, and other stuff. However, just as I was about to give up hope, I turned a corner, away from the makeup, and THERE IT WAS! Soooooo....here's where I went a little crazy...... (By the way, all the new Maybelline products I'm going to talk about are LIMITED EDITION, so if anything spices your interest, I would suggest going out ASAP and picking up what you like!!!)

Maybelline Color Show "The Nudes" Nail Polish!!

One of the first things I noticed in the display were the arrangement of nail polishes. I own one or two of the original Color Show polishes and have had pretty good luck with them so I wanted to pick one up. The only color in the display I particularly liked was #756 "Blushing Nude". I have it on my nails today, and while being a VERY sheer polish, when built up it has this rose gold look to it.

The polish retails for $4.19, but I'm sure you could get it cheaper at Target or Walmart.

Maybelline Colorsensational Lipstick!

Maybelline also released 4 new shades in their lipstick line. The packaging reminds me of the "In the Buff" collection they recently released, so I'm thinking these lipstickes are lumped into that line as well. I only picked up one shade in "Ravishing Rose". This color is a light Spring-y pink color, and therefore I think it'll make a great spring shade. i get a lot of wear out of my "In the Buff" lipsticks, so i'm hoping this one is no different. The formula is the same as the rest of the Maybelline lipsticks and it retails for $7.99, but I got it for $3.99.

Maybelline Color Elixirs!!

There are 4 new Color Elixir shades! I really like the other one I have in "Caramel Infused", so I thought I would try another one. This one, in the shade "Radiant Bloom" is a lot more sheer than the one I already have, so instead of wearing it alone, I would definitely pair it on top of a lipstick. In the 4 new shades, this one is the darkest pink color. There is a paler pink and then there are 2 bronze shades. I think pairing this lipgloss on top of the above shown lipstick would be a perfect Spring look.
These retail for $8.99, but I'm sure they can be found for a little bit cheaper.

Maybelline Eye Studio Shadow Quad

After having one of the Eye Studio quads, I already know I love the quality of this product for being a drugstore eyeshadow! I saw the 4 limited edition quads, most of which were filled with tans and nude colors, which after a while aren't really fun to purchase anymore. Then I saw this one, called "Take It Off". A little risque there, eh Maybelline? xD The shadows are super buttery and soft, excellent quality for blending out!
(Without primer)
These quads retail for $9.99, but again, I feel like they would be cheaper at Target or Walmart.

Maybelline Master Glaze Blush Sticks!!

These were the products that were kind of let downs for me, as the packaging doesnt seem to mesh well with the texture of the products. I almost didn't even buy these, seeing I don't usually like cream blushes, but I really loved the colors so I snagged them. The 2 I got are in the colors "Nude Rebellion" and "Barely Pink". Like I said before about the texture, these blushes are super creamy and so they are really soft. Just touching them to swatch them I was afraid I was going to push them out of the packaging. They have the plush texture of a Dream Bouncy Blush, so I feel like they would have been better packaged in a little pot like those blushes. Regardless, I think these will make a really great base for the shades of blush I usually use.
("Nude Rebellion" and "Barely Pink")
These blush sticks retail for $8.99 but I got one of them for half price.

And now the part i've been waiting to talk about!

Maybelline Color Tattoos!

Maybelline has released a new collection of Color Tattoo cream shadows! i believe there's 6 shades in the collection, all nude-ish shades. I only picked up 3 that I thought would be nice looking on their own, or as a base underneath other shadows. The colors I picked up (from left to right in the above pictures) are "Sleek & Spice", "Beige-ing Beauty", and "Nude Compliment". These shadows are super creamy and look amazing alone or paired with other shadows!
("Sleek & Spice", "Nude Compliment" and "Beige-ing Beauty")
These shadows retail for $7.79 each.

So I hope you all liked this super long blog post, and I hope it showed in better detail than in the video swatches of all the products I got that are new at the drugstore!
Anyways, how are you all today? Any requests for reviews are appreciated!
Love ya!

Review! New Limited Edition Kat Von D Esperanza Palette!

Hey everyone! I am soooo sorry I've been away for so long, school and life in general have just been really busy and I haven't really had time to sit down and write a review. Anyway, today's review is on the new LIMITED EDITION palette from Kat Von D: The Esperanza Palette!

The front of the palette has this super beautiful skull design, drawn in the "tattoo art" style.I think the front is wonderfully colored and drawn out. The packaging in general is the hard cardboard style, so it isn't indestructible or anything, but it is compact. There is also a good size mirror on the inside.
As for the colors of this palette, there are 8 shades, 6 shimmer and 2 matte. Most of the colors are pastel or "spring-like", which is PERFECT for the time of year that this palette has been released! I think these shades will be amazing for spring, however there are a limited amount of looks you can pull off JUST using this palette. Here's a look at the colors!

As you can see, the colors are mostly pastel. There are a few darker shades, such as "dog roses" (the brown shade), and Santeria (the dark navy). The shades are pretty pigmented, yet they are pretty powdery after dipping a brush into them.
Swatches! (Without Primer)
As you can see, without using a primer these shades are kind of faint in pigmentation. However, with a primer these shades are really smooth and nice. Like I said before, I don't know if you can really get a good variation of looks JUST using this palette alone, but I think it's a really nice palette to own.

This palette is Limited edition at Sephora for $36 which I think is a fair price for the palette. So if you are interested, i'd hurry out to Sephora and pick this bad boy up!

Do you have this palette? And if so, i'd love to hear your thoughts! Also, let me know what you'd like to see reviewed next!

Benefit Cosmetics "Creaseless Cream Shadow" in RSVP

Hello everyone! I'm sorry this review is going up a little late; it's a new semester and still trying to figure out free time and etc xD

Either way, let's get started with this review, shall we? Today's review is about one of my current "bought-it, forgot-it" finds. It's the Benefit Cosmetics Cream Shadow in the shade RSVP. I bought this shadow a while ago when everyone was raving about these, and RSVP is the only shade I have from the line. I used to be really into cream eye shadows, but the craze for me has kind of gone on the back-burner for awhile. But recently, as I was looking for something to use when I got tired of using the same primer everyday for my eye shadow, I re-discovered this bad gal in the back of my eye shadow drawer. This shadow is a GREAT base for the Urban Decay Naked3 palette, and it's what I have been using underneath my powder shadows all week. Here's a close up of the eye shadow and a swatch!
 (RSVP Cream Eye Shadow)

As you can see from the eye shadow pot alone, the product is a gorgeous rosey champagne color, making it really blendable underneath the Naked3 shadows.

All in all, I really do think this product does what it says it does. It stays on all day, and as a base it really does seem to be "creaseless". Not to mention that the powder shadows stick to it very well as well! It's really creamy and spreads easily onto the lid.

This product is sold at Sephora, Ulta, and on Benefit's website, and retails for $20. I think this price point is kind of steep for this product, seeing Maybelline has shadows fairly similar to this for less than half the price of this shadow. However, there are 10 shades in the line, so if you're really curious about this product, i'm sure there's a color you'll like. For me, I don't think I'm going to buy another of these shadows, only because some of them could be easily dupe-able, and for the fact I don't wear cream shadows as much as I used to.

I hope this review helped you somehow. I've been wanting to do a "higher-end" review for a while and this is just something I have been loving at the moment.

I hope you all are having a wonderful week...Tomorrow's Friday, so that's a plus! :D

Rimmel "Stay Matte" Liquid Mousse Foundation

Happy Monday everyone! I know it's been a while since I've posted anything on here, but I was home for the week and didn't get a chance to blog! But now i'm back with today's review, which is on the new Rimmel London "Stay Matte" Liquid Mousse Foundation! This seems to be either a love-it or hate-it kind of product. I was a bit skeptical of purchasing it, because I had heard a lot of not-so-great reviews on it, but I decided to go for it and pick it up. I got the shade "True Ivory", which based on the name, is not something I would usually think is the right shade for my skin. After opening it up and trying it, I found out that it actually matches my skin really well, which was surprising to me.
The formula, just like the packaging states, is a "liquid mousse" texture. I feel it is a bit more on the "mousse-ey" side, rather than a liquid, but it is not so thick as to where it takes a lot of effort to blend in. Here are some swatches of it both right out of the tube, and then spread  bit over my hand.

As you can see the coloring is pretty right on, once it's blended in a bit. To apply it, I use my "Real Techniques" Expert Face Brush, which has denser bristles and apply it in a circular, almost buffing motion. I will say that when first applied, the foundation looks a little bit cakey on the skin, but after applying blush, bronzer, etc. it's hardly if not at all noticeable. I have been wearing this foundation since I applied it at 9am, and it is now 4:30 pm. Here is my face makeup to show the wear.

(Sorry for the creepy close-up! xD )

As you can see, the makeup is still holding strong! I haven't powdered since 9am, and it hasn't streaked or become patchy with time.
Overall, I actually like this foundation. While my Covergirl 3-in-1 foundation still I think tops this one, I think this is a close second out of the several foundations I have tried. This retails at around $6 at Walgreens, and my Walgreens had a dollar off coupon right in the display. I think for a drugstore foundation, this one is pretty good and I recommend trying it out!

Well that's it for today's review. I hope your Monday isn't too terrible! Leave a comment as to what you guys would like to see a review on next!
Love ya!

Revlon Colorburst Lacquer and Matte Balm Stains!

Today's review is on the Revlon Colorburst Lacquer and Matte Balms. I know I'm a little late hopping on the bandwagon, but I have been loving these lately! As pictured above, i own 3 of the lacquers and 1 of the matte balms. Retailing at $6.49 each (at Target), there is a variety of shades in both collections, ranging from nude shades to red, to violet. The lacquer shades I have are (from left to right) Ingenue, Demure and Whimsical, and the only Matte shade I have is called Sultry. Here are some swatches of the shades!

Ingenue is a brownish nude shade, almost a "Your Lips But Better" kind of shade. This shade gives a really nice gloss to your lips, while still making them look natural. Demure (My favorite shade) is a light, everyday classic pink shade. Again, being a lacquer shade, it adds a gloss to your lips and also is very wearable. Whimsical is my least worn shade, being a very bright glossy purple shade. And as for the matte shade, Sultry is a very beautiful matte plum shade. This shade has amazing staying power, and even after eating and drinking, after a few hours the stain of the color still remains on the lips.

All in all, these lipsticks are very nice quality. For me personally, I definitely recommend the more neutral shades, just because they are more wearable for every day. However, a brighter matte shade like Sultry is also a very wearable shade and i very beautiful as well!

Have you tried these lipsticks? If you have, what is your favorite shade? Comment down below letting me know!
I hope you all have a beautiful day and stay warm! <3 <3 <3

New Maybelline "Master Hi-Light" Hi-lighting Blushes

Tonight's review is on these new blushes from Maybelline. These are the Master Hi-Light Hi-Lighting blushes. There are a total of 4 blush shades and 2 bronzer shades in this line. Each product also comes with a small brush and a mirror underneath the product tray. The shades I picked up are in Mauve (Left) and Nude (Right).

These blushes claim to highlight skin and softly contour the cheeks for an instantly defined glow. While I do not agree with the contouring qualities these blushes seem to claim, I do think they add a really nice shine/highlight to the cheeks. You also don't need to really swirl your brush in all of the product to pick up a lot of product. You really just need to lightly tap your brush into the blushes to pick up a good amount of product and to include all the shades throughout the mosaic pattern.
Now let's look at the blushes individually!

This is the "Mauve" blush. As you can see, it includes a variety of purple, maroon and tan shades within the mosaic. This is the main blush you have to be light-handed when applying, since a lot of product comes off in a light touch to the product. However, I do think this is a very pretty blush and I don't have any other blush like it in my collection.
This blush is the shade "Nude". Because of the shades in this mosaic, this is the most "Highlight-y" of the collection. I actually (at first look) thought this would be a great drugstore dupe for Benefit's Rockateur boxed blush, however swatched next to each other, that's not entirely the case.
(Left=Maybelline, Right=Benefit)
As you can see, the Benefit blush is a bit more pink than the Maybelline blush, however they are pretty close if you were to want a drugstore alternative to Rockateur.

Here are the Mauve and Nude blushes swatched side by side.
(Left=Mauve, Right=Nude)

All in all, I think these are pretty good blushes for $8.99 a piece. I think they will last a relatively long time and with the highlighting qualities within these products, they add a really nice glow to the face. I definitely recommend checking out these blushes and maybe trying one out!

I hope this review was helpful in some way and I hope you all have a beautiful day! <3 <3 <3
